What’s a hotel again? Statement all in due thanks to Airbnb (and no, this is not a sponsorship post).
A longtime overdue entry on the beauties of Budapest Hungary. The exchange rate, the thermal baths, witnessing the Chain Bridge at night, large food portion sizes, retro metro cars, Christmas markets galore and seeing Matthias Church in the Fisherman Bastion area and thinking “Upon a time I pinned this on Pinterest”. What’s not to like (not taking into account the freeze-your-face-off weather)?
Seeing the shoes on the Danube bank – an ode to those killed by Arrow Cross militiamen in World War II – provided a quiet moment on our first night.
On the second night? Ruin bars till (what felt like) dawn. We dipped out early.
Also shoutout to Köl for being an awesome travel buddy. No kidding, she creates the best lists of off-the-grid coffee shops and venues that focus on beautiful interiors and neat atmospheres (like the donut library!).
